i am tired of studio and refuse to take part in our final project. i am eating a salad, but i would rather be eating pork lo mein. i skipped class yesterday to play with the boy. i wanted to skip class today too and repeat. i am worried about finals, but at the same time don't care. my legs are sore today and don't remember how to walk. my orchid finally got some new buds growing.
1. Banshee Beat - Animal Collective (this song always calms me down and passes a good 7 or 8 minutes)
2. The Luckiest Guy on the Lower East Side - The Magnetic Fields (always good cheerful music, good for boredom)
3. Empire State - All-Time Quarterback (this is a great rainy day/boredom song. plus, Ben Gibbard is great.)
4. Insomniac - Electric President (this song is also good for sleepy time but in general is pretty relaxing)
5. Teenage Wristband - The Twilight Singers (I saved this for last, this song won't help with anxious but will get you pumped for when boy does get home)
Enjoy! Acquire those in whatever *cough* legal manner you can!
wow this all happened so fast! I'm gonna have to cap this, the first 10 posts will get custom playlists...and more if I have time. I'll get started when I can (i'm at work currently but I promise to get to you)
@beccah - several genres...i would say check them out on youtube until i get a chance to perhaps upload them somewhere. i'm presently at work and wont be back to my library til later tonight
1. Coconut Records - Nighttiming (Jason Schwartzman's band, actually...very exciting song.) 2. It'5! - Architecture in Helsinki (something upbeat and danceable) 3. Over and Over - Hot Chip (again, danceable...you will be forced to bust an excited groove) 4. 7/4 (shoreline) - Broken Social Scene (this is one of the best excited songs ever) 5. I Feel It All - Feist (sorry for two such related artists in a row, but I couldn't rob you of this one!)
Enjoy!
P.S. - does someone want to teach me how to do a proper @someone? I'm new on this site and haven't done it since consumating. Halp?
@AnEnticingWord: My dear friend, after making you about a dozen mixes this year I hope this one holds up to my standards!
1. St. Swithin's Day - Billy Bragg (This song is kinda sad but fits your mood I think. plus, It's Billy Bragg...he cheers me up even if its a sad song just with his dorky accent)
2. My Only Swerving - El Ten Eleven (As heard in the movie Helvetica! This song should fit your mood)
3. All In Your Rows - The Maccabees (This is just a fun one that probably transitions nicely from the last one...maybe will help cheer you up)
4. Without Panasos - The Anniversary (Now that I've cheered you up with Maccabees, I'm gonna keep you there. Favorite line from this song "I'm having trouble feeling sad!)
5. Sympathy - The Get Up Kids (if this isn't a walk down memory lane...I know you will still appreciate this song)
I'm currently a bit bored and anxious... waiting for my boy to get home so I can do something besides internet. :P
i am bored and wanting to be productive at work. i am slightly irritated with the meanness of the anon thread. i am curious about your song choice.

I'm bored and anxious. I want to get out of the house, but don't want to leave. I want alcohol, but there's none in the house.

@emm
another boredom, this is good.
1. Lake Michigan - Rogue Wave
(what this song lacks in helping with your anxiousness it makes up for in being cheerful as hell!)
2. Bridges and Balloons - Joanna Newsom
(this one is mellow and fun...definitely fits the part)
3. Up Against The Wall - Peter, Bjorn, and John
(lighthearted, fun, 7 minutes long. Helps with boredom!)
4. Get Me Away From Here, I'm Dying - Belle and Sebastian
(this is for the boredom)
5. Rough Gem - Islands
(perhaps the funnest song I know)

Existential angst.
@kooky

(this is pretty self explanatory)
2. Oh, Susquehanna - Defiance, Ohio
(this and the next are some good angsty folk punk...this one reminds me of childhood :) )
3. Survival Song - Andrew Jackson Jihad
(lyrically, this may be perfect for existential woe. helped me through my quarter life crisis)
4. Young Shields - Casiotone for the Painfully Alone
5. The Greatest - Cat Power
enjoy, madame.
(ps...sorry for the genre non-cohesion...yours kinda jumps around but I bet you'll still dig it.)
