I am supposed to be a postpartum (women who have delivereed and their babies) nurse. This somehow transformed into me working 50% of my shifts on a unit that is 25% antepartum (women who are still pregnant), 25% postpartum women who for whatever (usually medical) reason don't have their babies (ie baby is in nicu, baby has passed away), 25% gyn (women who are not pregnany, but have something wrong with their female parts), 25% cystic fibrosis (people with a genetic lung disease, often not women at all), 25% psychiatric nutwads.. It makes no sense. It doesn't even add up to 100%. Whatever, I'm expanding my nursing skills, and it pays the rent!
So, "Scrubs" -- not a documentary, then?
What do you do?
I love stories!
So true.
So very, very true.
I have a nighttime PSYCH rotation coming up. OMFG.

Interesting...what kinda hospital are you in? Large urban for profit? County not-for-profit? I'm curious cuz I'm working on my BSN right now...
