Depends on the site, really, and sometimes the nature of the story. If I think the comments are just going to be people bitching at and name-calling each other, then no. Otherwise I might.
I try very hard not to, because they're almost universally moronic. I actually AdBlock'd the comments on my local paper's site, because they were so awful. Handy too, that. NPR I sometimes scroll down through, but I've stopped that, mostly.
Nothing helps me lose faith in humanity like news article comments!
@Ethan i know what you're talking about. sometimes the comments can be unintentionally hilarious, but you have to be in the right mood not to be angered/depressed by them
I do read comments often. If only for a quick chuckle. If there's actual conversation happening then I'll scroll through a few pages of comments but if immediately its just retardation then I'll skip it.
This isnt a news article site but I hate all the commenters on DamnYouAutoCorrect. THEYRE SO UPTIGHT.

Sometimes, but not often. I have found myself going back to articles solely to read them.

Lately I've been stupidly addicted, like I feel like it gives me insight into SOCIETY, but then I get enraged and it's all dumb.
BUT yeah, some sites do have interesting and thoughtful comment sections.

No matter what the topic of the article is. there will always be someone who will bring up politics in the comments section.
