It's summer festival season here in Sydney and Nikki and I are gonna PARTAY. Tell me what bands you're planning to see in the next couple of months.
Ours are:
Sufjan Stevens at the mo-fo Sydney Opera House Laneway Festival with The Antlers, Local Natives, Beach House, Stornoway, Deerhunter and others Swervedriver (my 18 y.o. self is very excited) Anberlin + The Starting Line (Nikki's 18 y.o. self is very excited) Jimmy Eat World (ditto) Belle and Sebastian, also at the Opera House
Girl Talk (again) in March. Debating going to see the Weezy/Nicki Minaj/Rick Ross/Mix Master Mike stop in Chicago, even though hip hop concerts are usually hit or miss. I will go see some shows at Summerfest, but they haven't announced a full lineup yet. The only big star they've announced is Katy Perry, and I'm not gonna see her.
@rink and snowsuit: I have seen the RAA so many times they literally recognize me now. (They play Vancouver in April! And new album in March!) Heartily recommended.
okay. i only had vague remembrances of really liking an album of theirs that came through the college radio station back in my dj days, but i never got a copy of it for myself. therefore, with two supporters, i'm going to be much more likely to make that show actually happen. YES.
I am so tempted to go to Belle & Sebastian. I kind of listened in on Laneway since my bestie lives next to SCA and we could hear it sitting in the backyard. Anyways, I'm seeing Best Coast aaaaand that's all I have planned thus far.
