Last cruise I went on (six days), I read two books and got off the boat only once. Your plan sounds fantastic. Bring lots of sunscreen and pants with elastic waists.

Bring as many books as you can fit. The beauty of cruises is that no one cares how much luggage you have.

If you plan on dressing up for dinner, keep in mind how you evening gown might clash with the sunburn you got earlier that afternoon. Also, if you like to gamble, keep in mind there is a casino.

Finally, if you do want to get a little brainy on your shore excursions, even in the tropical climates there's usually ruins and the like you can tour. Buy some souvenirs and contribute to the local economy already.

And even though the people are usually pretty lame, being on a ship in the middle of the ocean is actually kinda cool.
