i do tend to scratch until i bleed these days, though intentionally. the bites just itch so DAMNED much. and they keep on comin. there is no escape.

i think that what it is is that the pain of a slap is stronger in your brain than the itch of an itch, and so you are replacing the itch with pain and it makes the itch go away. for a brief while.

and i think by stronger i really mean that the messages from the nerve endings travel faster to your brain. actually, i heard that tickling travels fastest, so i guess i should maybe be tickling.

or...slap and tickle? a nice little combo move!

Slapping a mosquito bite totally helps. And is better for your skin in terms of irritation than scratching.
