It's been warm. Today I didn't even wear a tie. It got to the point where I thought "You know, if I had nicer legs, I would be inclined to dress more comfortably".

Also, I am now such a wimp. 88 should NOT feel hot.

Also, 30 days to ComicCon! Woo! I hope to run into Michael Bay and punch him in the nuts.

I have realized that not all dogs are awesome. I've had a pair of beagles staying in my apartment and they are just like that friend you have with all the emotional problems that is constantly fucking your shit up.

I moved to Austin. It's been steadily over 100 since I got here. I think it's actually Hell.

What's new? Who's even around anymore? And there are ponies now?

AUSTIN! I finally visited Austin last winter. I was HIGHLY disappointed that I was only there on a day trip because, beer and barbecue and cool vintage stores and that one turn-of-the-century-circus-themed candy and soda shop!

There has been a pony invasion. They keep multiplying. People are threatening a pony roast. I personally don't mind them.

bustie we need to talk doctor who

There's a couple of ponies.

Also, I've found a social life here in Boise. I found out (believe it or not) there is fun to be had in Boise. I know, weird!

Also, I want to take another trip to SF soon. Also, I'd like to go to Austin to give Fergie a big hug!

This was a stream of conciousness post, to be honest.

HENA! What the hell was up with A Good Man Goes To War?

I mean, it was awesome... and then I was like... wait, didn't Ten get at least this angry every other week.

Matt Smith, I love him, but he's a floofy puppy and can't always sell the Oncoming Storm part.

Rory, however. Bad-Ass.

I could totally use a big hug!

You've seen the Rory gif, right?

Jay, I'm sure that it's only a matter of time before certain people decide that putting birds on things in Portland is too mainstream and move to Boise.

There will be a roller derby team inside a year.

You understate the comeliness of your legs, sir.

(Note to self: go back and erase this before you accidentally hit 'Post'. That would be terribly embarra

You heard Fergusen, Jay. Now make it happen.

rory is SUCH a badass. also he has gotten so much more attractive this past season. unf.

but yeah, eleven is definitely a more fun doctor, but ten was so...mad. like, eleven is still mad, yes, but ten was clever and mad and so serious at the same time. i can't take eleven seriously all the time.

but omg, river song. i hated her at first but now i kinda love her. AND AHHHHHH HURRY UP AUTUMN

@-j.: I'm just sayin'... sometimes... sometimes I get the kilt.

Then I remember the kinds of dudes who wear kilts (outside of the UK or police funerals) and.... no... my hair is neither long enough nor my collection of D&D manuals large enough to pull off the look.

@HENA: I kinda hearted River Song from the very beginning. Man, before that ep, we had so many theories. My GF and I practically had a whiteboard trying to figure out who she was. At one point, we thought that maybe she was the Doctor from another dimension - because, as we saw in The Rebel Flesh, eleven can only really love himself.

Still... Melody Pond.

It would make sense that she's as bad-ass as she is, given her parents.

I also LOVED Rory's skinny grey suit in 1969. I WANT THAT SUIT.

yes rory owned that suit. with his glasses. oh yes!

oh man, moffat is really killing us this time around

He thinks we forgot about The Silence. We did NOT forget about the Silence, silly Moffat.

BTW, what did you think of The Doctor's Wife? Two great tastes that go great together?

how long was i waiting for two of my favorite things to combine? A REALLY LONG TIME AND IT WAS AMAZING

it was so cute. it was just like reading a gaiman short story. so good.

also i think the silence is good. i'm too tired to explain why but I THINK THEY'RE GOOD

I have nothing to add where this thread went. Other than that, I'm pretty awesome. Except that I stayed home from work on accounts of exhaustion.

@Bustie We've actually already got a roller derby team.

I'm not gonna apologize for nerding out on GTI of all places. Also, Doctor Who is now the hipsteriest sci-fi show ever.

Where have you been lately, Mace?

Hena, at some point you will need to enlighten me regarding your theory.

@Jay: So, see, social life isn't THAT far fetched. So what have you been doing, then?

Courtney Stodden

@little_p: yeah, WTF is up with that? I mean, sure, age is only a number, but 51 and 16? What could they possibly have to talk about?

Actually, you would probably approve, Bustie. I've been doing a lot of karaoke. We have a bar we go to every sunday, and we call our karaoke outings "Church" because we're all a bunch of godless heathens.

Also, one of my friends is the singer for a really awesome local band. I often go with friends to see them (I'm going this weekend, in fact.)

And I'm just out more in general. I'm having a lot of fun these days.

@Bustie I KNOW! and she looks so OLD. man, at 16 you're still a baby. I mean, why even get married? why not just live together for a few years and move on? that's what they're going to do anyway.

also, it would be extra cool if he was 61. their ages could be palindromes!

Where have I been? What do you mean? I missed your day o' fun because I was in Sacramento at a baby shower, but other than that, I'm around. Call me some time. Wait, is karaoke this Friday?

@Mace: I think so, actually. A little early this month.

I'm still around! Finally getting serious about my physical health. Doing boot classes, trying to eat better, etc. Any tips you have for me (or Jay, since we both started this journey around the same time) are greatly appreciated! (http://goteaminternet.com/show/76749)

Ah. The only advice I can give is to be as strict as you can about 90% of the time, but allow yourself one "get out of jail free" card per week. Otherwise you're going to drive yourself completely around the bend.

But I don't know if I'm the best person to give advice at this point. I haven't been to the gym in AGES.

@Bustie The month ends on a Thursday, which makes karaoke early. Man, that means I have to start thinking NOW.

Good advice! Thanks!

Also, if you're not going to the gym, are you still working out or maintaining some other way? Because you still look amazing from what I saw at Sarah & Gabe's wedding!

Lets see, since you've been around/I've seen you last, I graduated college, moved to Milwaukee to start grad school, began brewing beer in a serious "at least once a month" way, lost another 20 lbs, started seeing clients, learned that Top Gear is an ricockulously amazing show, and been reunited with one of my best friends. Not too bad methinks.

Hello!

Um, it's SUMMER! Though it doesn't feel like it at all. I have to take classes which isn't fun. I'm reading the Hunger Games. It already feels like my vacation is half over. That's about all.

@bizzy: Not really. I just kind of got used to eating very little on weekdays. That, the occasional walk, and all my running around at work seem to do it.

I do need to get serious again soon, though. I'm detecting a little snugness in certain clothing articles.

@Muppy: Not bad at all. And Milwaukee's a nice town, IIRC.I spent a week there in 2008 and thought it was charming and full of beer.

@erica: is Hunger Games good? Like, it's one of those things that I see everyone reading... but I wonder if it's a Steig Larsen/Dan Brown type everyone reading, or if it's actually well-written.

Hunger Games is a total page turner once you get over the fact that it's a bunch of kids killing each other. But we've all seen Battle Royale, right?

Hunger Games is an enjoyable read just remember that it IS written as a YA novel so the writing is fairly basic though not like Dan Brown terrible. The action bits are very well described.

@bustie - You know, I didn't think the first one was that well written. I mean, better than Steig Larsen but it still made me question whether one can write a plot driven page turner WITH good writing to boot or is that too much to ask? But a friend of mine who's very good at knowing good writing thought Hunger Games was good writing, so perhaps I'm just a bad critic?

But yeah, the plot/theme work is really good. It kind of invades my thoughts.

I think the best way to describe the english used in Hunger Games is it's very clean and direct. Every scentence and word used is very economical and more or less used to move the story and the character development forward. I don't think this is necessarily bad but when you do read it you feel like you're missing out on something.

I do kind of like quick reads from time to time. It's a nice antidote to literary fiction. I'm kind of in a book limbo at the moment, since my GF is currently hogging the book I ACTUALLY want to read.

Related: my cat keeps pulling my boyfriend's Dan Brown books out of our bookcase. I want this to mean something.

Is he trying to teach himself how to read?

@Bustie It's possible. I think he may be an evil genius.

And he's huge. I now picture him sitting in a Blofeldian swivel chair, evilly stroking a tiny Mace.

He's a cat. There's no "maybe" when it comes to the evil part.

@-j.:

James Bond: Do you expect me to talk?

Jack: Meow, Meowmeow Meow. Meow meowmeow meow meow meow!

@Bustie: and then he knocks things one at a time onto Bond's head.

OMG OMG OMG. Tiny Mace. Bond torture with head-knocking. I am going to die from not laughing, trying to be quiet at my desk.

It's good to be back (if only for a little while).

What should go here?
