whereupon i said, "i'm neither for, nor against marriage."

you can escape unmarried. all you need is money.

really? he's a convicted felon. i believe that's the factor involved.

how much money if the felony thing is n/a?

Depending on where you're escaping to, and your employment situation, marriage may be convenient for dealing with immigration.

i will be a pharmacist. australia, for instance, requires that i pass their version of the licensing exam.

i'd really rather go to europe, though.

Ah, convicted felon changes things. If he's still on probation or parole, marrying you will make it easier to get a waiver to allow him to leave the country. Also, it'll be much easier for him to get a residency visa if he's married to someone who is not a felon who has a job in the country in question. Being a licensed professional (such as a pharmacist) probably makes it fairly easy for you to get in.

oh, there's no probation..it was an assault charge when he rolled up the window on his ex-wife's arm. ridiculous, but true.

isn't the reason we'll get married so darned romantic?

Hey, there are worse reasons.

Yea, one of my roommates use to live and work in cozumel, and a few other places outside the country. You can totally do this, and probably not have to deal with the marriage thing. But, maybe it is easier from the standpoint of doing things as a couple... hmmm... sounds like a fun adventure!

i'm just down with providing the kids with a bigger horizon. the whole "imperialistic police state" thing kinda weighs on me too.

hi, run!!! superion.

see...i can't say that on facebook without inviting a shit ton of drama.

What should go here?
