Hey

Sup.

How's things?

Hola! What's your pup's name?

THINGS ARE GOOD! My GF moved in with me two weeks ago and co existence is pretty cool. Also I finished Arkham City!

@bizzy: Her name is Fife. Long "i", silent "e". She would not like to be called FEE-FEE. She's an eight-year-old yorkie who's spoiled rotten and is just the cutest little bundle of evil.

@TWIGBy: !!!!!

BUSTIE! Qué tal? I'm not quite clear from that paragraph whether it was you or the dog that dressed as the luchador, but either way, awesome.

What kind of writing are you hoping to do?

@-j.: I was dressed as a luchador. Fife was dressed as a dog who is extremely happy about a squeaky toy that makes lots of different squeaks at ear-piercing volume. But I heart her regardless.

As for writing, I was hoping to maybe try and write a comics script. It's unlikely ever to be drawn, though.

I have three concepts duking it out in my head at the moment.

One is a horror/Police thriller/1980's period piece set in Puerto Rico about an old cannibal god attempting to ignite a gang war.

Two is a coming-of-age/post-apocalyptic/quest story set in the US 110 years or so after the Martian invasion of 1898.

Three is a paranormal comedy-drama about a San Francisco-based graphic designer who moonlights as a paranormal investigator and spellcaster. Because it's fun and nets her beer and weed money.

Any one of these concepts could be fun to play with. The first one was actually the focus of my NaNo two years ago. I got to 50K words, so I hit the goal but never finished the story.

But I don't know about full-on dedication to the writing, because I'm also trying to get a running habit going.

@Bustie: those concepts are fantastic, and I am particularly intrigued by the first one. How long do you figure a comics script takes to write?

@bustie, any chance i could get my hands on some of the pup's psych meds?

@Brad - oh, if only we had more. We kinda burned through most of the supply. I don't think we have enough for the holiday vacation with the fam.

I predict a visit to the vet.

@-j.: I don't know. The comics script is a fairly easy, forgiving format in some ways. The challenge is that you're not describing everything. You're describing one action per panel, and the amount of time that progresses between panels can vary greatly.

My biggest problem with the format is that I tend to think cinematically, so I want to have a straight-up second-to-second storyboard.

Heeeeeey Bustie.

Someone asked me what you sang on Friday and I couldn't remember and then I realized that I had blocked it because it was the FREAKING SMASHING PUMPKINS. BOO.

Sup Bustie.

is that an exotic fish in that jar?
