OH MY WORD! That's like the ultimate question while in Chicago, or so I've heard. Apparently the food there is just all so amazing. You should eat at a Greek restaurant where they light the giant wheel of cheese on fire and yell, "OPAH!".
You should eat some Italian, and some German, but I have no idea. I have not been .. .yet. I can't wait to go. Maybe find a nice little Czech restaurant and have some delicious beer.
Oh you know where I would most definitely go? To one of Rick Bayless' restaurants. He does the authentic cooking show on PBS. I love him his stuff looks so amazing and he seems like a really laid back and down to earth guy.
Frontera Kitchen and Topolobampo in Chicago.
Topolobampo is supposedly a little "dressier" so probably more expensive. But either one should be amazing!

Um. Kuma's Corner which you probably will have to wait forever for but is totally worth it. METAL THEMED BURGERS!
And Penni's Noodles. Most authentic Chinese noodles I've had in the states.

There is one there and there is one right below the blue line stop at Damen.
