food service is worse than retail. so is the print industry. though i will never understand why people insist on fucking with those who touch their food.
I was a waitress once. For a day. Never again. I try to be especially polite to people in the service industry, not just because they're handling my food, but because I know they're working a hell of alot harder for $3/hr than I am for my salary.
i learned a while ago that the customer is rarely right. and usually stupid.
L: so, so true. which is why i hope to god i never have to work in retail again.

I work tech support. The customer is RARELY right.
But isn't that why they're calling you in the first place? i think that's more of a case of "the customer is rarely polite."
Well it's not just that they are rude, it's that they are frequently lying or wrong or both.
I love this.
It also depresses me because I know I'm signing up for a lifetime of retail.
I hate people.
Eh, you gotta do what you gotta do. Just try not to "get stuck."
Wow. I remember having that job.
In fact, I think I might have met that exact same customer.
The customer is almost ALWAYS wrong- it's just that we have to tell them they're right. ;)
