Yeah, but you're using VB.

Isn't that exciting?! I have to work in VB for what I do.. it's awful. I've been trying to convince them to switch to a better platform (and language) that isn't completely archaic and annoying.

high five!!

And I started learning how to use it Saturday night, and I'm writing a final based on it in a little over 3 and a half hours. So ssshhhhh.

that's pretty amazing.

what did you have to "make?"

@josh: i've never actually done something in VB before, other than stupid little class examples that are like

Sub Question4()
Dim x As Integer
x = 4
Do While x < 9
Cells(8, x) = x
x = x * 2
Loop
End Sub

Practical Use = ZERO

Goldangit. Every time I see @josh in the overheard I think people are talking to me, and I get frightened.

That last statement sums up my opinion of VB in general. I have to take open shots when I see them.

@El Indio: I was just making a program for myself as an exercise in practical use, to show all the information about a bunch of books i bought and then distribute the total discounts evenly (it was a buy 3 get 4th book free deal)

next up:

C#

I am not learning this by choice, let me tell you.

i should show you my VBA code from this last quarter. grrrrr

um...girls who program...
never realized how sexy that could be. huh.

oh, nm. lol

@Molly: practical use is definitely zero. I'm surprised that professors even bother with it anymore. There are better and less suicidal ways of learning to code.

@j(osh): you should start replying as me. or I should find a gti nickname.

hahaha sorry. although on a good note, i like the logic of it, so maybe someday i will venture into something more complex.

@ohgosh(does that fix things??): Its basic computing concepts for business... they've actually just changed the program outline not to include it, so you take the same course minus algorithms and VB. Despite my frustration with learning it, because its something COMPLETELY new to me, i like it better than the bullshit theory classes on marketing and shit thats all memorization and multiple choice exams

What should go here?
