I didn't play D&D until I was 17, because I am the son of one of the playtesters of Rolemaster and Middle Earth Roleplaying System, so I cut my gaming teeth on those at ~11.
also, I get those star wars things when they're on sale too. Or Rocket Men (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocketmen) if I can find 'em.
When my new motherboard didn't have a working Linux network driver, I fixed up the broken one on the driver CD, merged it in the Linux kernel, and became the official maintainer.
@Chrome Raven You learned with Rolemaster? Okay, you have me beat, dude. :)
For those who don't know, Rolemaster is one of the most overly-detailed roleplaying games out there. As an example, if I recall correctly, they have 3 separate hit locations on the tail of a dog. Is that correct, Chromey?

i have a hard time just using my imagination these days. i need...stuff. visuals.

I'm more nerdy than dorky/geeky. please don't kill me dorks, but I never really got into star wars.
im not even that into star wars but these little model things were 50% off at the grocery store. woot
and (kinda)making something makes me feel (sorta)crafty!

i have a couple of homies!!!
i feel ashamed now

not as dorky as i pretend to be
@Jay Defvision I believe that particular one is an urban myth, but it does differentiate between things like upper arm, lower arm, and hand.
and it involves a lot of math and percentile rolls. and cross referencing charts. Oh dear gods the charts.
