I mean it really has all been done. Ok, here's how I got here this morning, watching clips of the Gonzo Dog Band.
Last night I was watching a very small amount of Beavis and Butt-head (Because I can only handle so much at a time before my brain starts to melt in bungholing feverishness) and Beavis referenced someone named Laurie Anderson during the video of Korn's "Blind". The name sounded familiar but I couldn't remember. So I found out she was a performance artist, avant-garde type and then started watching her videos on The Youtubes. One video turned into like, 4. Finally this other clip by the Bonzo Dog Band comes up, which links me to this one. And in this one, it all becomes so vividly apparent to me that there really is nothing original under the sun.
So I may as well just play what I want, keeping in mind that there's always someone out there who hasn't heard much at all. And learning to rely on the fact that there's a new wave of mindless suburban zombies born every day. Surely some of them will naively pay for my works. And I'm ok with that.
