So, I go to these big DIY sales every now and then…and I notice that all the stuff looks the same. Journal made out of old book? Check. Handmade t-shirts that look copied off of Threadless reject designs? Check. Cards and prints that would be offered on Etsy the next day? Check. Decoupage of "Victorian" illustrations? Check. Record bowls? Check. Duct tape wallet. Check, check, check.
I'm wondering if DIY doesn't end up being simply monculture, as mainstream as the makers are hipster?

this is because originality is original, and uniqueness is unique!
i'm confused by the concept of a DIY sale, though.
i also kind of want to make my own t-shirts.
