i hear it helps to have a ritual for bedtime that includes relaxation techniques like a bath or whatnot.

Pepper's got a good idea with the bath! Supposedly, the energy expended to heat and cool your body helps wear it out. Plus, it's just relaxing.

Stay away from the television and computer before bed; reading a book is good. Writing in a diary/journal is better.

Melatonin.

Booze.

Yeah - I've found that the Trader Joe's sleepy time tea works pretty well. Reading. A combination of Melatonin, Valarian, and Theanine works pretty well synergistically.

Of course, there's always Ambien.

Booze actually will put me to sleep but one of it's metabolites is a stimulant. So I'll crash then wake up 4 hours later with a hangover and be unable to go back to sleep.

What should go here?
