i haven't had one of those yet either. tend to go for chang (both cheaper and higher alcohol content!) or leo. haven't see lao on many menus and such, though...

now instead of writing i'm sending out emails pretending that i'm going to write a book and asking friends to help me find a literary agent. woohoo!

Are you picking up any Thai? There is a good Thai restaurant here which is shocking since this town is so small. I was eating Som Tum there the other night and this woman comes in to pickup takeout. Turns out she spent 3 years teaching English in Thailand so she was chatting away in Thai with the waitress, but when she spoke English, she had the most Deep South accent. The contrast was striking.

Hell, I wish I taught English abroad when I was young. Boo me.
