I've been watching Firefly.

Probably no help.

Moon (2009) was really good. Sam Rockwell is a man who is working alone on the Moon. Superb story, very low budget, interesting premise.

The Fall (2006) is full of amazing color and a very strange, Indian-inspired fairytale storyline.

Quiet City (2007) is a quirky little indie flick about a girl who is stranded in New York City who meets a guy who entertains her for a couple of days. It's contemplative, well-acted, and shot on a budget that equals three months of rent.

On a Clear Day (2005) is a nifty little flick about a Scottish guy who decides to swim the English Channel after his shipbuilding plant lays him off in his 50s.

Ink (2009) is a strange, but amazing movie, about an aspiring Incubus who kidnaps a little girl and the Storytellers (people who cause dreams to happen) who race to her rescue.

Medicine for Melancholy (2008) is a sparse indie film about two people who spend the day together after a one-night stand, doing stuff in San Francisco, commenting on politics, and having an adventure.

Good Dick (2008), a movie store clerk falls for a reclusive female customer who only rents terrible softcore porn. It's an abrasive, but believable, character study.

@Osteo - I'm going to watch Moon soon...since it's streaming on Netflix now.
