I'm listening to "The Real Thing" (on the album of the same name) right now. It's kind of blowing my mind. Falling to Pieces is sounds amazing as well.
I no longer let myself listen to Epic, because it's one of my favorite songs of all time, and I don't want it to lose its impact on me if I listen to it too much.
good call on the burnout avoidance. i do it on every new tool album. speakers are good. i recently madmaxed some cerwin vega sat/6s's to a crappy phillips dvd/surround system and replaced the sub with a trace elliot bass guitar amp with a 15" woofer. i'm dumb. the last faith no more i sat down and listened to was the king for a day album.
I heard that about the video games! I have yet to explore all his work outside FNM, although I'm starting to listen to Mr. Bungle more.
That weird Porsley kid got me Epic on vinyl, and on the sleeve is Mike Patton rocking out with his super long metal hair. Everything about that man was impressive.
you think fnm lyrics are weird? wait til you stumble across the mr. bungle song about a quadruple amputee who is also a deaf/mute afflicted with blindness, who, when placed upon a trampoline, thrashes about and pretends he's michael jackson. or the fnm song billy gould bet patton wouldn't sing the lyrics to: be aggressive. funny stuff.
Awesome new speakers+ The Real Thing= ♥ ♥ ♥
What is what? Faith No More?
It's it. (What is it?)
holy crap! what songs?

Does loving Faith No More really make one a nerd? We're not exactly talking about Weird Al here.
Nooo, but thinking that hard about my love for Faith No More is kind of nerdy. :]
YOUR MENSTRUATING HEART etc etc
I like them but man sometimes the lyrics are wierd.
mike patton is AWESOME. everything he does is pretty fucking sweet.
@Porsley: You know that's poetry. "My head is like lettuce; Go on, dig your thumbs in." Deep, man. Deep.
@Skanko: I'm pretty sure Mike Patton is one of the most awesome singers of all time. His voice rocks my world.
his stuff with the dillinger escape plan is cool too. and he voices alot of video games and shit. he's got a GREAT voice.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that his picture was superimposed, Godzilla-style, over a photo of New York City. BAD-ASS.
THAT is pretty amazing.
i had a roommate in college who was OBSESSED with mike patton and bjork and the flaming lips.
im really glad he was obsesswith mike patton b/c otherwise i would have never known that the "lead singer from fnm" had ever done anything else.
