Pike Place Market, definitely. Pioneer Square for funky, vaguely historical digs (including an Underground Tour as Jay mentioned -- goofy fun.) Uwajimaya Market in the International District if you're at all interested in massive Asian supermarkets. Hmm...Capitol Hill and Belltown are cool hip places, as are Queen Anne and Fremont.
Whatever you do, don't leave without having some fresh fish, preferably sushi -- Shiro's is awesome. Salty's in Alki is super expensive but totally worth it, too. And great views of the Sound.
@starscream - oooh that undercity thing DOES sound cool. i'm pretty sure my friend just moved to seattle too so he probably hasn't seen it. and I LOVE SUSHI OMG so i'll definitely try and check some out.
@bmanda - you're probably right. i also had friend's suggest buying a super cheap on for the weekend and just selling it afterwards. i'd definitely be into meeting some of your friends too!
thanks for the suggestions, everyone. i'm so stoked :]
Osteo just went there, so he might have some other suggestions.
I've never been to Seattle, but I'd be interested in seeing the undercity, myself.
pikes place. buy fish.
It's an awesome city. I like Pike Place Markets too. Also, Capitol Hill is full of hipsters and is quite cool. Fremont is another cool neighbourhood.
hmm, i guess i should find out where my friend lives within seattle.
i'm TEMPTED to see if i can ship my bike, but i know it'll probs get ruined in transit.
also, if i can't cook should i really buy fish? because i manage to eff that up every time that i try.
Pike's Place. Fremont and Ballard. This park...um...Waterworks park?
How long are you going to be there?
Gasworks Park.

@laurennn If you like I can try to hook you up with a few friends.

you can probably rent a bike while your there. I'm almost certain there has to be a bike shop that does there.
Also, fav'ing this for when I go.
