Yeah, it's three hundred dollars for three years, isn't it? But if I'm going refurbished, it's probably a must.
A laptop. I basically just want something with 100 GB or so and not slow like my current computer. So, I think a plain old mac book should suffice. I wish they made the black ones still. I thought they were cute.
If it's your first Mac, get AppleCare, because you may want the support. If you're a student, get AppleCare, because there's a good discount and the lifestyle puts a lot of wear and tear on hardware. If you satisfy neither of these conditions, a well-padded laptop bag is probably a better investment. I got AppleCare on my undergrad iBook, and it was absolutely the right choice. I did not get it on my grad school PowerBook or my new MacBook Pro, and those seem to also have been good choices. Whether it's a refurb or not has no bearing, because any refurb-related issues will probably happen within the first year and be covered under the standard warranty, not that I've ever had any such issues with Apple refurbs.
And please no comments poo pooing macs. Thanks.
get it connected to your hands. and then you will love it forever.
no for real though, get the apple care, it may be a tad expensive but its one of the best warranties out there.
laptop or desktop?
One time I couldn't find a potty so I poo poo'd on a mac. Everything else was too valuable. True story.

Also, if you're getting a refurb, the aluminum Macbook is a much nicer machine than the white one, for only $50 more.
