In my mind they are vermin, not a cuddly play thing. I can't get over it. I don't want to.

Rats aren't vermin, they are insanely smart and need companionship. They have cute little pink hands and love to eat grapes despite them being as big as their head. If you knew them, you'd change your mind. All of that aside, I understand.

i used to have affinity for rodents as pets. then i dated a super crazy chica with pet rats and ever sense i've associated those bad relationship feelings with the mickeys. it's a character flaw on my part, and not fair to our pink handed friends, but i still haven't been able to overcome it.
