I've never understood glee. I love Jane Lynch, that's about it. Some characters are funny, but mostly it's terrible acting and songs that I can't believe are just as popular as the originals. I know some craaazy fans of the show are even saying they hate it now, I guess the plots have gotten even worse? I don't know.
Ryan Murphy is totally retarded. He always starts with a good concept and then just makes it UNBEARABLY RIDICULOUS.
I have invested significant amounts of time watching four of his shows (Popular, AHS, Nip/Tuck, and Glee) and they all end up like that. He loterally destroys his own shows. Glee is probably the one which has it the most together, compared to the others. AHS is already fucked cos they're changing the entire cast but I still have hope for next season.
I watched an episode for the first time this year and thought it was (mostly) pretty bad. I'm glad to hear that earlier ones were better, but unglad to hear that those days are past.
(And I too remember what happened to Nip/Tuck. Not that the show was meant to be taken all that seriously even when it was good, but it quickly exceeded any reasonable "oh, come ON" quota.)
Like, all Murphy shows require a healthy suspension of belief in order to be watchable in any way, but Nip/Tuck took that shit to ANOTHER LEVEL. Once Matt and Kimber became scientologists, I was done.
i also watched popular! (wow, we're taking it back a few.) and, yes, it kinda unraveled.
maybe american horror story is the attempt to avoid the unraveling? i think it is supposed to be an entirely new storyline every season, right? so, it can't peter out if you just keep essentially having a first season??

Maybe, rink, but even season 1 got pretty ridiculous towards the middle/end of the season. SO MANY PLOT HOLES.
