I was so productive today!

-documented the starts of my garden!
-mailed my taxes, bills, and other fun things
-rode my bike
-took a shower (shocking I know)
-watched two episodes of sex and the city (hate all you want but i love it)
-cooked homemade chili-garlic-salt tortilla chips
-made homemade vegan guacamole
-ate the hellllll out of the two abovementioned food items
-decided i'm making a DIY functional craft/garden blog
-made some progress on my feminist blog!!!

I turned over the topsoil on the big bare spots on our lawn. Then put down lime, new seeds, and fertilizer. I'm pooped.

how is guaco not normally vegan?

omg, will you plz shre your gauc recipe cauz of i want to make some ilove guacomole!

@ om nom nom - guac usually has some kind of sour cream in it if you like it extra smooth....which i do...so i used silken tofu instead.

@emm - here you go!!! i never use recipes for more than inspiration so uh, you can change mine all you want cuz i just kinda made it up-ish!

HOMEMADE TORTILLA CHIPS
`~~~~~tilde!~~~~~~`

* some smallish flour tortillas (or use as many as you want....5 was enough for two people if you're just makin' an appetizer)
* extra virgin olive oil
* sea salt
* chili powder
* whatever other spice you want (i used garlic and wine seasoning)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Here's whatcha do: you take some olive oil and coat each side of each tortilla in olive oil. THEN you stack up the tortillas, and cut them into wedges (8 wedge stacks). Oil up some baking sheets and arrange the wedges on the baking sheets as close as possible without overlapping. Season/salt the hell out of them. Or to taste. Bake for 7 minutes and check on them. If you want them darker, leave in for 10.

HOMEMADE VEGAN GUACAMOLE
(you will have hella leftovers if you're just serving two, but throw the rest in the freezer, sucka!)
~****************asteriskkkkk**************~

* 1.5 hass avocados - really really ripe. (make sure they're ripe if you plan on having green guac!)
* 2 tomatoes
* 2 garlic cloves
* black pepper
* chili powder (i love it. you don't have to if you don't wanna.)
* sea salt
* cilantro or parsley (if you have it. i didn't, so i didn't put it in. you can also substitute mint if you are courageous.)
* about 1/4 of a block of silken tofu.

Get out your food processor. Chop up 1 avocado, 1 tomato, and all the other shit...throw it in the food processor and process it. Or whatever food processors do. THEN take the food processor bowl off the blade and cut up another 1/2 avocado and another whole tomato; stir in the chunky goodness. Taste it, add whatever adjustments you want, then serve it up.

Last step: eat the hell out of it!

@bold as love - that sounds awesome!!! how big of a garden plot?
