During the intermission last night, she said, "I feel like this play is making fun of my people."

Inside, I was laughing. Geebus, I am such a bitch!

Honestly, I laughed my ass off during the show. I mean, c'mon. Who can't laugh at a song called, "We Have To Save Conor Oberst From The Asteroid"????

Fucking hilarious.

My friend is in that show/produced the thing.

Really? I thought it was excellent. OMG, I laughed so hard.

Which character did your friend play?

Good show.

Indeed, it was. Where you there last night?

She was the one who ran out and told everyone about the asteroid.

"Yeah, I was back there during the first act and thought, 'This fucking sucks. Asteroid!'"

No, I went opening night but then had to drive back to Los Angeles the next day.

Ahhh. Again, I thought it was hilarious.

I made a soul patch out of a napkin so I could get a discount. ;)

Anyway, yeah, my angry friend. I love my friend to death, I really do, but she's a silly emo kid. Some of her taste in music is really bad (although you may think mine's pretty horific too since I listen to mostly indie stuff), but still. She's just like those characters in the musical.

A part of me feels kinda bad for bringing her along, but heck, she wanted to go!

My people? She identifies that much with her indie emo group?

Wow.

My people? She identifies that much with her indie emo group?

Wow.

MY PEOPLE? Hahahahahahaha.

. . .that's REAL!?!?!

This sounds incredibly awesome.

@Oom Mao Mao: yup, she really does. Like, I'm not even kidding - homegirl came over last weekend and handed me a copy of the latest Conor Oberst. Then these kids started to sing this song about saving him from the freakin' asteroid, and I swear I was laughing the loudest at the theatre.

During the intermission, they played all of her favorite emo tunes just to add to the ambiance, and she was like, "fuck these people, I know all the fucking lyrics!" And I could tell she was feeling pretty dorky for having adorned her hoodie that night with all of her favorite bands' buttons.

@bold as love: I highly recommend it. If it plays again in SF and you're local, you should definitely check it out. It's a really low-budget kinda thing so you can't expect much in terms of props, but whatev. It's still pretty rad.

My friend wants to know how you found out about her show.

Oh! Well, I was walking around downtown one day and saw a poster somewhere....like in a restaurant or cafe or something. Sadly, I can't remember exactly where.

What should go here?
