Not edited for morality, necessarily, but maybe for time. Or violence. I was watching Die Hard and maybe my memory is just off. But I thought I remembered them actually showing him walk on the broken glass. In this version they showed the terrorists shooting the glass and then they showed John MacLane in the bathroom digging glass out of his foot. It's probably just my memory that is flawed.

This is what makes me suspect my memory as the faulty device. The times were about the same. And I doubt imdb got the wrong time info. Still ...
