Khan - I became interested in hospice in nursing school. I was attracted to the idea of helping people end their life on their terms. I have been doing maternity/newborn for the last 1.5 years. Now that the kiddos are both in school I am transitioning to hospice, while still working 1-2 days a month in maternity/newborn. I like the idea that I am there at the beginning and the end. There are many similarities, not the least of which is that modern medicine has robbed us of our dreams and dignity in both events. I like to think that I restore a little of what people want to both.
Ducks!
Did it go well?
I don't know if I would have the guts for hospice work. I admire people have bot the courage and compassion.
Those are geese, Ghostie.
I call horses ponies.
That does not mean I don't know there is a difference. :)
Thanks for educating me though.
What would compel you to go into such a field?

I too have my issues with modern medicine.
