I knew it was going to happen. Scales were never pushed by any of my teachers, and now that I've got a new professor (again) the second year of my masters, he decides that he should hold me up to the same standards as the students that have been in his "system" for 6 years.
From being able to play 0 scales, I was expected to play in 16ths at quarter note = 120:

I think I managed most of my major stuff. Everything else was a train wreck. My teacher was not pleased. He can go to hell, I'll take a B in my lessons for the semester if that's what it takes.

Every time I messed up a scale, I heard the announcer from Smash Brothers say "FAILURE!"
It was hard not to grin. That would have gone over even less well.
Minor 4ths? But, you already played major 3rds.
