I vote for turning the machine on it's side and gently trying to pry it out with some tweezers or similar. MacGyver could probably do it with his swiss army knife and a stick of chewing gum.
normally if you can take the covering off the area around the drive, there's a tiny hole that you can push a unfolded paperclip into and it pops whatever is in the drive out. Macs like to make things difficult though, so I'm sure it wont be that easy :/ Sorry.
