Send your XBox 360 to NJ and I'll hold it hostage and then you'll have to come here to pick it up and then we can get married.

Or send it to Microsoft to get fixed within 2 weeks.

no warranty?

After we get married can you fix my Xbox? Because, I mean, greatest wedding gift ever.

Yes. I can fix it. Sorta. Maybe. Kinda. Not entirely. Not so much. Maybe not. No.

Do you have one? I mean, I can just bring over my games and stuff.

Oh, I'm sorry. I mean our games.

Yeah. Last month I had the red ring. Microsoft fixed it in 2 weeksish.

Yes, and then we can play PlayStation 3 and maybe we can play Super Mario Bros Wii two player because that shit is crazy.

Just send it in. Microsoft is fixing them even past the original warranty period. But if you crack it open to fix it yourself, they'll probably refuse to do anything with it.

LATE BUT WHATEVER

Check your Xbox's serial number online, it should tell you how long your Red Ring coverage is. Coverage for RRoD is 3 years from the purchase date, so more than likely you're still within coverage unless you bought it at launch or something.

My Xbox red ringed and it came back within a week. they even gave me a brand new xbox since my old one wasn't repairable and i got a 3 year reset on my red ring coverage and a free month of xbox live!

if you're past 3 years you're pretty much SOL beyond DIY methods. Most involve affixiating pennies covered in electrical tape to the mother board, you can find videos on how to do it on youtube but that's pretty scary, even for me and I replaced the laser on my PS2 once. The xbox was NOT designed to be opened up with ease.

So this is my concern.

I got my 360 last Christmas, so I should be covered for red ring issues, but my machine has only given me the red rings once. Now whenever I turn it on, it will act like normal for a few minutes - load and play games, connect to and download from xbox live - and then it will abruptly lock up. Sometimes it goes to black, sometimes the image on screen gets distorted.

Anyway, my regular warranty is expired, and they want to charge me 100 dollars for all non red ring fixes. If they turn it on when they get it and don't get an immediate red ring, are they going to charge me that money?

Also, fuck a product that breaks two weeks after the warranty expires.

Yes that is a concern because the special 3 year coverage only covers red rings and the newer e74 video error (the e74 error will inform you of its name.) If they receive it and see no red rings they will charge you.

Also are you certain you got red rings before? There are other flashing red light errors, like the IO error and such.

Three of the four quadrants lit up red. That's all I know.

yeah that's the rrod, but it doesn't show up all the time?

So far it has only happened once.

ugh, that's no good, keep playing it until it craps out, or wrap it around in a blanket and leave it on!

What should go here?
