EW. I hated Cymbalta... it took me four weeks of migraines (it induces them if you're prone) and nausea before I could get my doctor to switch me. That said, I do know people who have had good experiences with it, and the side effects only lasting a week or two... but it was more than I could take. =(
Yes...it is the newest SSRI with the least amount of side effects. Although there are still side effects. Just tell him to make sure to keep in touch with his doc! And if he's on it for depression, therapy truly is a key componenet in treatment. Anti-deppressant therapy combined with Cognitive Behavioral therapy is much more effective then either alone. Even with mild-moderate depression. So many people just swallow pills expecting a cure...unfortunately things don't really work that way.
