I have a cute little journal that I could use, but I would like to be able to, like, make graphs and charts to SEE how I'm doing.

there's an ap for that.

But no iPhone in ma hand.

dailymile.com

I dunno, I like it, but I'm a dork.

there are a lot of online things that come up when you google: online weight loss log

@erica: I was hoping you'd have a suggestion! Although I'm not sure I'd want to share my progress with other people. :/

@om nom: Yeah, I tried "online exercise log" and got plenty of choices. I'm just not sure exactly what I'm looking for in a log, so I'll try your google suggestion!

Yay! But ...well, hmm. Here are the good and bad things about sharing your progress with other people:

1. Truth be told, VERY few people will probably care about how you work out. This is totally boring shit, right here.
2. The ones who do (if you add any friends) might help motivate you to do more, or give you kudos on a good workout.
3. It has a clean look and is organized well. I know what you mean, but you wouldn't HAVE to share this with anyone if you don't want. And if you do, it's a pretty nice platform for it.

@erica: Oh, good! I didn't know if it was possible to keep your progress private. Since it looks like it's aimed mostly at running/walking, can you also log other types of exercise? What if I swim for an hour, or do 7000 strides on the elliptical?

Well, I don't know if you can keep it private per se. Actually, I'm pretty sure you can't. BUT. There is nothing keeping you from signing up with a name that no one knows and not telling any friends and not inviting people, you know?

And yes, they have options for a bunch of different workouts.

when I was using the dailyplate with Jay Def and a few of the others from around these parts, there was a noticible change in my weight loss and exercise effectiveness.

I've only used running ones but yeah there are a ton. they all do the same thing. every one i've used have privacy options (i'm nuts about that stuff, so i wouldn't use something that didnt have it). but in all honesty, they dont do anything an excel sheet wouldn't do for you.

i used to use livestrong.com

i use http://caloriecount.about.com/
