Pop/Soda/Whatever your regional location calls it: my regional location calls it "all-natural organic locally-grown soy smoothies". I have actually never liked pop of any kind.
Thing your mom makes: my mom always made this little corn fritters when I was little. It's partly flavour and partly nostalgia, but those are my favourite.
Thing you make: dulce de leche. If we're talking a real "dish", probably the beef empanadas as noted above.

Sushi/Maki: So many kinds, but Ra makes a Crazy Monkey Roll which is SO GOOD. It is a seaweed roll with smoked salmon, fresh mango, and cream cheese. Burger: Homemade, with beef cheese rocket tomato raw onion and beetroot.
Sushi/Maki: Pass. I rarely eat fish, and the one time I tried sushi was pretty hilarious.
Alcoholic Beverage: Frequent beer drinker, but I love an old fashioned. There's a bourbon bar in Melbourne, the Kodiak Club, that does a mind-blowing bacon old fashioned.
Soup: Laksa! Meat and/or vegies, tofu and noodles in a spicy coconut milk soup. Apparently it's the single thing all of my expat friends miss the most - whenever they're back in the country we go out and eat laksa. You should really get on to that, America.
Meat Dish: There's a lot of places in my area that do excellent goat curries. Also, a kangaroo steak done well (by which I mean, hardly done at all) is a wonderful thing.

Thing you make: I've always been pretty pleased with the beer I make.

Sandwich: this sandwich from a now defunct deli in a town that i no longer live near called the smokin' granny. turkey with apple slices, grilled on cinnamon raisin bread. yum! also, because i'm a proper north carolinian: bbq (but with no slaw PLEASE...which maybe means that i'm NOT a proper north carolinian.)

Sushi/Maki: in general, i don't do much seafood, so my sushi options are limited/lame, but i love me an eel roll. G.D.

Pasta: uhhhh, all of the above, really. but i guess lasagna wins best overall.

Three Topping Pizza: either cheese/ground beef/roma tomatoes or a classic margherita. also, omg, i have a new favorite frozen pizza (it's #1 in germany!): http://www.oetker.us/en/product/ristorante-pizza the mozzerlla and spinach ones are the best frozen pizzas i have ever had!
Dessert: probably chocolate-covered cherry cake. i HATE chocolate-covered cherries, though. also, in july and august: fresh watermelon milkshakes from cook-out. (y'all should be jealous that you don't know what cook-out is.)
Ice Cream Flavor: ummm...is it lame to say vanilla?
Cookie: i don't know if i would always say this, but i have been ingesting an embarrassing amount of oreos recently. it's milk's favorite cookie.
Junk Food: haha, see above. i also love utz's honey barbecue chips. (also lil' romeo's BBQin' with my honey flavored chips, but they're kinda rare to come by.)
Pop/Soda/Whatever your regional location calls it: mr. pibb with NO ICE please.
Thing your mom makes: oh crap, a couple things are already on the list! ummmm.... i would add her twice-baked potatoes. holy lord.

OH MY GOD, I TAKE THE BURGER BACK, HOW COULD I FORGET ABOUT BACON EGG AND CHEESE BURGER?!

that seemed like an appropriately emotioned response.

Jeez, I'm glad my formatting worked.

BOOM done.

new category: favorite cereal- cocoa puffs. has nothing to do with the fact that i am eating a huge bowl of them right now. nope.

cereal- cap't crunch berries. the roof of my mouth is crunch berry proof!

Ooooh that's a good one. I'm a big cereal person. Hm. tough. I'd say.... cinnamon toast crunch as an unhealthy choice aaaand Raisin bran as a more balanced choice. I also really love honey bunches of oats and the new PB cherrios! I could go on.

Cereal: Hot porridge. Just thinking about it is making me hungry again.

I only eat Special K red berries because I'm a boring adult but omg if left to my own devices I would eat Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Apple Jacks for breakfast lunch and dinner.

FYI CTC is so disgustingly delicious as a vanilla ice cream topper. Wow.

IM GLAD SOMEONE ELSE HERE APPRECIATES MARGARITAS BTW

@Matthew I never understood peoples issues with that! Glad to see I'm not the only one!

@Caution I always thought those people were pussies.

New new category: favorite candy!

Sour patch kids. The end.

@Naturelle Rivera You've just opened a whole new world for me.... I've never thought about it on ice cream, but it TOTALLY makes sense! And Margaritas are the only thing I will consistently drink! Margaritas and CTC dinner party! Eh...actually. Don't think that would mix, BUT WHO CARES. I ALSO LIKE TO TYPE IN CAPS OBVIOUSLY.

I will admit that when I discovered the world of cinnamon toast crunch and vanilla ice cream, it was Costco-level snack time for me. Good God. That was the first and last time I ever indulged. IT'S LIKE CRACK.

@Matthew Well then.... I just thought they didn't know how to chew, but if you wanna fight about it I totally will bring my battle ax and back you up.

oh my god cinnamon toast crunch on icecream is amazing.

favorite candy: soft licorice chews. yum.

Also I'm one of those assholes who will order a margarita no matter what kind of bar I am at and then be all shocked and annoyed when the Irish pub doesn't have tequila. DIDNT YOU KNOW I WAS COMING? GOSH. This is why I just bring my own tequila with me everywhere, open container laws be damned.

If I end up in jail one day, you guys, you'll know why.

I....must do that. I imagine it being similar to cinnamon bun ice cream? Flavor wise.

HAhaha oh gosh. I've ordered a margarita at a pizzeria and then when it wasn't good the person I was with was like, "really? REALLY? YOU'RE IN AN ITALIAN RESTAURANT!" NO EXCUSES.

My favorite Candy candy is sour gummy worms. My favorite chocolate candy is pb M&M's or those mini reese's cups. I like pb.... too much.

OH or peanut M&M's.

@Celisse: ahahaha. I once ordered a White Russian in a Bavarian brewhouse; the bartender didn't know what it was, so I described it to him. There is no emoticon that corresponds to the expression he had on his face afterwards.

Favourite cereal: Quaker Harvest Crunch.
Favourite candy: still popcorn.

@Caution pb m&ms are heavenly.

Oh man I was in Hangzhou a few years ago, which is a smallish AWESOME little city in China about 70 miles SW of Shanghai, and I ordered a Pina Colada at the little bar in the lobby of the hotel I was staying at. The bartender looked at me like I had three heads. But he kinda threw one together and it was GOD AWFUL.

Like, how do you screw up a Pina Colada?!

I was prepared to be all irritated about it because being irritated is pretty much my neutral state, but IT'S HANGZHOU. WHAT DO THE CHINESE KNOW ABOUT TROPICAL DRANKS? Nothin' apparently.

Favourite candy? Natural Confectionary Company jellybeans.

I'm going to speak in generalities, not specific venues, because picking BESTS is nearly impossible for me.

Sushi/Maki: Good tamago. Which is really rare around here. I swear no one orders it but me!

Soup: Posole
Meat Dish: Either pork and sauerkraut, or simply a properly done medium rare filet mignon.
Veggie Dish: I have a weakness for salads, especially with homegrown greens. Baby arugula and mustard greens are my favorite. Also, a wedge of iceberg with bleu cheese is perfect.
Fruit: Frozen grapes
Cheese: Haloumi! You can grill it, damn it.
Tea: Darjeeling
Pasta: You mean like, specific noodle? I'm going with that: bucatine and radiatore. Just kidding, I know you don't mean that. Carbonara, followed by anything pesto. And I mean real carbonara, not cream sauces with bacon.
"Ethnic" Food: Mexican, specifically molé.
Three Topping Pizza: Sticking to standard pizzeria toppings, not fancy shmancy toppings: spinach, tomato, onion
Dessert: Flourless and chocolate.
Ice Cream Flavor: Choc.
Cookie: A very specific "hermit cookie" which is actually not a hermit cookie, but it's what they called it. It's halfway between oatmeal and chocolate chip dough, with raisins, walnuts, and chocolate chips.
Junk Food: Corn nuts.
Pop/Soda/Whatever your regional location calls it: Coke. Pure and simple.
Thing your mom makes: She makes me barley pilaf sometimes, when she actually hosts holidays, which is rare. And that shit is delish.
Thing you make: Posole or sweet potato fries.
Cereal: Count Chocula, or Cracklin' Oat Bran.

Things GTI likes (so far):
- fried eggs
- Indian food
- bleu cheese in burgers
- tomato on pizza
- eel
- ordering drinks that annoy foreign bartenders

favorite side: sweet potato fries.

@ETHAN I FORGOT ABOUT POSOLE!!! What's wrong with me, that beats what I said. I'm crazy.

@Libi My Favorite type of fry is definitely sweet potato. Savory, not sweet though.

The secret to sweet potato fries is chipotle, cinnamon, and salt. 1:1:1 ratio.

I'm going to change my sandwich answer to GRILLED CHEESE, btw. Or actually maybe I'll change my cheese answer to that.

There's a food truck here MS. CHEEZIOUS who makes the most amazing grilled cheezies with sweet potato fries. YUMMMM. They also apparently make their own tomato soup but I have not tried that yet.

mmmmm. i love sweet potato fries so many.

actually. i just love fries. all kinds.

i make homemade fries all the time and they are so time consuming but so awesome.

Sushi/Maki: spicy salmon sashimi

Alcoholic Beverage: Liquor - whiskey neat, but with a paper umbrella plz

VEGETABLE: artichokes!

cheese: i'm lactose intolerant, but goat cheese usually treats me ok

Cookie: cherry chocolate chip

Junk Food: movie popcorn, gummies

Pop/Soda/Whatever your regional location calls it: diet coke, duh

Thing your mom makes: haha, my mom does NOT cook

Thing you make: risotto

eep. i'm weird about food. i have such food issues; filling this out actually made me nervous.

Caution -- food trucks are HUGE here right now. There are these crazy huge meetups with 30+ trucks a few times a week in different spots all over the city. Ms. Cheezious is def one of the most popular. http://mscheezious.com/menu/

I like the meetups because there are so many crazy kinds of food there all in one place! I still have not found the truck which serves SHARK EMPANADAS and POUTINE though :C

DAMN. I am so insanely jealous. I want that where I live! The pictures of the food make me wanna cry....so delicious so faaaaar away.

You should drive around in your car serving grilled cheese out of the trunk. BUSINESS PLAN.

@Ethan You know that never works. People complain about the "dirt" and "taste". BAH. EVERYONE'S a critic.

Sandwich: Turkey breast, lettuce, tomato, avocado, spicy mayo, harvarti on toast
