I bought a drying rack today in order to hang dry my clothes instead of using a dryer.

added bonus: saving the money i would have spent to use the dryer

i don't bother with the grocery bags they giveyou anymore, i bring my own reuseable ones and i like them better anyways.

I'll be bike commuting starting in Feb.

i do reuseable bags too! and ihate on myself when i forget them... because the grocery store is in between me and campus.

also, i walk everywhere. i'm thinking of getting a bike the summer instead of reinsuring my car

iv'e recycled the last three years and use a clothesline. sadly, i have to drive almost forty miles to get to a recycling center.

and i do use a gun to help control the deer population, because lots of people get hurt in deer vs. small vehicle incidents.

i won't lie, i miss my car, mostly because no car = no horseback riding. luckily, i've discovered a barn on our bus route.

now if only our bus drivers were not on strike.

Victory to the Bus Drivers!
i always wanted to be strike captain.

um, as the environment goes, its like that my name is earl episode, i just feel like no matter what i do, the rest of civilization is canceling it out!
industrial society needs to change before any of this environmental damage can be repaired, unfortunately, our system does not adapt well.

dearest chuckles, that is not the approach you should take! have you never heard the starfish story?

i try to keep my utility bill in double digits
i drive conservatively.. even though i don;t have the most fuel efficient thing out there
recycle
use baking soda instead of commercial cleaners.

we've had two Saturday snowstorms

I will destroy this planet with my bare hands if I can

@Molly Malone: I think we should start a replacement OC Transpo. While the bus drivers and maintenance people are busy arguing with Lex Luthor about petty bullshit, we'll fix up the busses and start driving them.

I try to re-use a lot of things, and I find a lot of things on the street in my neighbourhood that are perfectly good but their previous owners just didn't want them anymore. Example: a set of stainless steel mixing bowls, and a hardwood chair with cushions that are not gross.

what is this starfish story?

yo. iceowl. its fuckign COLD OUT.

the starfsh story is this:

a man was walking down a beach after a storm, where tons of starfish had been pushed in by the tide and were slowly dying. as he continued walking, he saw another man, throwing the starfish back into the ocean one by one. so he said: there are so many beached starfish, why do you even bother? you're never going to make a difference. and the other man replied, as he threw in another starfish: i just made a difference to that one.

@Molly Malone: Is this a signal that you want to come over for tea and sit on my comfy new futon?

What should go here?
