@twigby - im not a GIANT stones fan either, i think if forced to make the distinction btw stones guy or beatles guy (which i never understood) id have to go with beatles guy. but SOME of the stones songs just are like the ESSENCE of rock n roll.
All three of those songs are totally in my top 5 maybe top 10 by them, BUT I don't know if anything beats Sympathy for the Devil.
HAHAHA i know that song, and thats why i said I THIIIINK b/c this is the song i was thinking of, but i never realized it was the stones version. DUMB DUMB DUMB.
Which Rolling Stones song reminds you of Funky Cold Medina? I mean, Wild Thing samples the beginning of Jamie's Crying by Van Halen, but Funky Cold Medina doesn't remind me of a Stones song.
"Moonlight Mile" is the most mesmerizing, but "Honky Tonk Women" is probably the most fun, since I've not only sung it at karaoke, but played sax with a band that was playing it.
@Skanko - To be honest, Sympathy for the Devil was the first one I thought of, but I had to listen to it on YouTube to remember it, so I figured that it wouldn't have been an honest answer from me.
I can never decide.
Thanks to Scott Pilgrim "Under my Thumb" has been stuck in my head FOREVER.
"Gimmie Shelter" is the obvious pick, though not necessarily the WRONG pick. Me personally i go with "Paint It Black"
That said: I'm not much of a Stones fan, I don't really know any of the "deep cuts" and i find Exile on mainstreet to be overrated. BLASPHEMY.

I've always liked Brown Sugar and Honkey Tonk Woman.
Brown Sugar is another one of my favorites. not as familiar with Honkey Tonk Woman i dont thiiiink
I'm sure if you listen to Honkey Tonk Woman, you'd say "Oh, that song."
It's the one where you hear the beginning and think "Hey, it's Funky Cold Medina!" ;)

Hmm. Beast of Burden, Paint It Black, and Get Off My Cloud are my faves, but really anything immediately recognizable as the Stones is pretty good.
@Skanko: can always bring it back to Tone Loc. Keith Richards must be spinning in his grave.
@-j. - Bwahahahaha I see what you did there.
I actually dont think he can die. He will live to 500 before someone kills him for the sake of humanity.

@Jay: unless I'm completely wrong, which is completely possible ;) Funky Cold Medina samples the cowbell-percussion from Honky Tonk Women.
Oh, I thought you meant the breakdown right at the beginning of the song.
I'm not even taking the time to read what other people said yet...
WILD HORSES. Hands down. It's my favorite song of all time.
Emily Wild Horses is a good song, BUT ITS THE STONES! THEY NEED TO ROCK!
NUH UH.
Runner up is Ruby Tuesday, I think.
Well yeah. Gimme Shelter.
I cant BELIEVE no one has said Sympathy for the Devil. It's astonishing

I was GOING to say Sympathy For The Devil, but I didn't want to be 'typical'. Also, I usually end up changing it before the song is over.
Street Fightin' Man, Shine A Light, Gimme Shelter
