Though, that having been said, if you are of the type to say what people don't want to hear, maybe you ought to limit yourself to the topics in which tears have not already been involved? Maybe, perhaps, why not?

I'm with oimoi here. If someone is honestly asking for advice, sure, give them advice they might not want to hear. Do it nicely, but feel free.

But if someone is pouring their heart out, sometimes differing opinions don't need to be said. So just leave it be.
