I've gone to my regular karaoke bar alone. And clearly, what I do when I'm there by myself is sing.

Plus I know so many of the regulars that it's often not like I ever feel alone there.

Very rarely, and not on weekends, and I usually read or sit at the bar where I might know someone working.

Restaurants alone? Sure. But bars, it's like, I would rather be drinking at home or with friends.

I ended up going to a wine bar. It was quiet so I chatted up the bartender. Turns out we're both from Ohio! I'm going to try more of this "socializing" thing...

Last time I went to a bar alone I met a composer in town from Tasmania, having just finished a run with the Sydney Opera. Dude sang at the bar. I have no idea what, but it was hilarious.

Wasn't until I was halfway home that I realised he was probably hitting on me. But if he was, talking about his wife and kids sure was an odd tactic.
