But seriously, I'm in this fiction workshop and the whole class is all writing stories based in the same town which we have named Atlantis, PA. And we decided that in the late-ish 1990s, the town began an initiative to make itself look 'Atlantean' with pillars and shit. Which I would say is more...Greco-Roman.
But this girl keeps saying 'neo-Gregorian architecture' in her story and I have no idea what she's trying to talk about.
Even if you screw up "Georgian" with "Gregorian" you cannot simply slap a "neo" in front of it willy-nilly. It's the smarmy version of "post modern".
You know else has a neo in front of their name? That's right.
yeah if google says it doesnt exist. it dont.
maybe she means like neo-gothic or something? even still you should probably drop some knolwedge on her. but in private so as to not embarass.
St. Gregory was not an architect, but he did invent the calendar system we all use.
Yeaaaaah I don't know, I'm pretty sure I'm just going to be completely silent during this story's workshop time because. Well: "Kyle was wearing a Los Compensinos shirt." COMPENSINOS. Does she listen to Los Campesinos! or did she just read the name somewhere? Either way. At least spell it right, but why even mention it when it has no significance to the story.
Also "I fumble with the key in the door which I wore around my neck." TENSE CHANGE. Also, she apparently wears a door around her neck.
AND ON AND ON AND ON.
And one point she called someone a wiener when she meant winner.
And this is the highest level advanced fiction writing course my school offers. I know we aren't like...a top school for creative writing but DAMN.
Maybe she comes from the Stephenie Meyer school of literature.
She has to. Although honestly, compared to this girl S.Meyer is at least Danielle Steele.
