July 8, 1932: DJIA closes at 41.22, concluding a four-year slide where the Dow lost 89% of its value.
That's how low it can go. I doubt it will. But, how good are your 19th century life skills?
@Osteo: Boy Scouts trained me well. I could have a Swiss Family Robinson setup out in the nature preserve in under a week.
We're already off 39.43% over the last year. I expect we'll reach 89% well sooner than 4 years.
In other news, GM shares hit the lowest they've been since 1951. Hurray?
Also, the national debt clock in Times Square ran out of digits today. Awesome.
We need political leaders to reassure us in these troubled times.
Fortunately, there's a voice from the white house that can buck us up and give us optimism.
