Tipping?
In a discussion recently the topic of tipping was brought up. To clarify, I'm not referring to tipping people in occupations where it's expected (taxi drivers, bartenders, wait staff etc.). I'm referring to situations where it is not occupation-driven. For example, you're lost and someone gives you proper directions. Do you tip them? Another example, a random passer-by help you move a sofa into your apartment. Do you tip them?The person I was discussing this with said that you tip anyone who helps you out. Is this something that varies from city to city or between urban and rural places? is it a class thing?
